Emerging Africa

I have just heard that Scot McKnight (www.jesuscreed.org) will be in Stellenbosch at the Faculty of Theology on Monday 12 May! It is short notice but will be well worth it if you can make it. Here is the official notice from the 'Kweekskool':

The well-known New Testament scholar, Prof Scot McKnight, will be visiting the Faculty of Theology on Monday 12 May and will make the following two presentations, both at the Kweekskool building:

* 09:00-10:30 The Missional Jesus
* 11:00 - 12:30 Teaching the Bible to the emerging (postmodern) generation.

Scot McKnight currently teaches at the North Park University in Chicago, and more information (with further links) about him can be found on the following website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scot_McKnight . Apart from his work on the NT and particularly about the Historical Jesus, Scot is also known as one of the leading figures within the "Emerging Church Movement".

You are all welcome to come and attend these presentations - information about the specific rooms that will be used in the Kweekskool will be put up at the front door of the building on Monday morning.
