synchroblog - "emerging heresy"
The emergents and emerging church has been accused of heresy, sometimes this is explicit and at other times it is in the subtext of what people are saying and writing. I propose a synchroblog titled "emerging heresy" for Friday 18 April. The invitation is completely open and anyone is invited to participated regardless of whether you thing the emergent conversation is the best thing since sliced bread or the greatest scheme ever invented to uproot the church.
For those who don't know what a synchroblog is: We set a theme and a date for posting. Those who want to contribute respond to the thread with the invitation. On the night before the post the person setting the invitation puts together the full list of participants and then emails that to all participants. This gives us a few days to pull our thoughts together and figure out who wants to join the conversation. So, if you're keen to join the synchroblog reply to this thread with the link to your post and your topic.

Syncroblogging lesson 2.
You don't have to be available at the time of publishing. If you want to contribute (and it doesn't have to be a major essay, either, just a few paragraphs will do) all you need to do is supply the URL by Monday (even via a comment here).
And while people with personal blogs will use those, there is nothing to stop you from using a new post on this site. Just use a header like "Heresy Synchroblog - Why I just won't stand for it - by Aratus".
The idea is that when we publish, each contribution will have the list of URLs of other synchrobloggers in their posts. So its peer to peer - after publication there is no 1 central post, each post refers to all the others.
You could even just write a "stub" and update it later, but these things all tend to get attention for a day or two so if you piece isn't written at publication time it won't get much reading.
C'mon Aratus (and this goes for all you other opinionated demi-emergents too) - we'll miss you if you aren't there!
