Like, fully bru...

I have decided, as penance for my sins, to do something about organizing a Cape Town cohort as it seems we are a little slower than the Gautengers in getting ourselves organized. Surprise, surpirse. I have met a couple of people here in Cape Town who are part of the emergent conversation and have seen a few more names on this site of people I know live in Cape Town, but the question is: Are you guys interested in meeting up on an irregular basis? I have no fixed idea of a place or format for these meetings, but I would suggest somewhere in the Southern Suburbs (Obz Cafe?) for a late afternoon coffee/beer and a chat. What say you? If there is enough interest expressed here and/or alternative suggestions for time and place I will go ahead and set a date. So I await your responses with bated breath...

Eks alent

Caffeine and Theology mix like alcohol and guns.

Is it a good thing?
I think so.

By the way - I just joined, thanks for the invite Steve; and I am in Paarl... but I do like having an excuse to get to Cape Town.

OK then since you ask ...

Saner will be in CT and I suggested we all get together on Saturday 13th Oct at my spacious home in vacuous Constantia, for braai and emergent emphorium.
Other option was doing a Liturgy in the evening (when its dark and we can all see the projector). There is however Rugby at 9 so possibly stay with Lunch braai.
Who is up for it?

"Light Curators" - an alt.worship liturgy (6 Oct 2007, CT)

Light - Electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength that is visible to the eye; Representing the Divine Presence.
Curator - A cultural and artistic custodian; A steward of Gifts.

I would like to invite you to an alt.worship liturgy, called "Light Curators". We will have this on Saturday the 6th October, at 8 for 8.30 PM (sharp start). Once again it will at 18 Ave Picardie, Constantia. We'd ask that no kids come (unless it proves impossible otherwise), just to give us adult types a chance, this time around.

The idea has been to sketch some alternative approaches to the questions of worship, community and creativity. The goal is to include the work of as many people as want to be involved; typically those who wish to have more direct and creative involvement in crafting a sacred culture.

All you should bring is an answer to 2 questions (if you can), which you can share publically if you desire. These are
1. What is the name of your Darkness?
2. What is the name of your Light?

Light Curators will be primarily contemplative, but may involve some movement (not obligatory).

Email me if you would like to know more, nic.paton@webafrica.org.za
