We meet at The Rocket restaurant on the corner of Rivonia Boulevard and 11th St. It's an informal lunch and a small group. We get together at 12 and can finish at 1, but often as conversations go, we continue till 1.30. Our topic is "What keeps you up at night?"call me for more info on 0118033623
I just returned from the Rocket restaurant but didn't find anybody there that looked like they were talking about what keeps them up at night. I was there at about 12:15, c/o Rivonia Boulevard & 11th Avenue. Did I miss something?
Roger, Peter actually called me a few minutes afterwards to apologise. He was running late that day. No problem, at least now I know where the place is.
I was keen and rearing to go. Only I had a meeting scheduled over that time. I have been very keen to connect with the Emergent crowd and I was very dissapointed to hear that it didn't happen. If someone who is organizing could please let me know when another comes up.
I would really like to see the Emergent church getting together more and more in Joburg. Perhaps I'm out of the loop or am missing something very obvious, but I get the feeling that we're fragmented.
Personally, as a business person, I find that breakfast meet-ups work better and actualy happen, as opposed to my lunch(which I often have meetings over) and supper(where I'm often too tired). So I put it to you(that's right YOU), if you are interested in a breakfast meet-up in the Rosebank area. This time of the year is especially busy; mornings are probably a better idea. I ended up having to do an interview with a bunch of girls from America for a gaming publication and it took much longer than anticipated!
Best of luck with the busy season. I never know whether to envy or pity the Jo'burg guys. Sure, I only drive 2 km to work every day but then again I live in the little house on the prairie and have bugs in every conceivable nook of my home...

Joburg North Cohort: 'Joburg meetup' at Emerging Africa
It could be that the group is still 'emergent'. Once they have all emerged we will know where they are :^)
Sweet dude
Sweet man, it's in my diary, looking forward to it!

Was there anybody out there?

Left Behind
Yes, I think Peter & Co have been raptured, and we've been Left Behind. Oh dear. Tribulation, here we come.
@Andries: have you given Peter a call? That might be the easiest way to figure out what went on with that...
He called me
Roger, Peter actually called me a few minutes afterwards to apologise. He was running late that day. No problem, at least now I know where the place is.
Rapture
It seems they were raptured -- we must have been Left Behind.
Where'd all the good people go?
We got heaps and heaps of what we sow... :-)
Aw man I missed the rapture again!!
